Dreams

You know
There’s a picture on my wall
It’s underneath a pencil sketch of mine
A drawing of an otter..

The picture
Is a photograph
A memory I barely remember
And fail so much to imagine..

A family portrait
Of a mother, father and daughter,
Sitting happily together.

Happiness..
A vague distant memory..

These wounds never cease to bleed,
These paths I walk never end..
I’ll never reach my destination.
Here I lay,
A broken child
..Who will never reach her dreams..

Nice poem. I know it sometimes seems like a mission impossible, but we can always reach our dreams if we keep believing. Believing is the first step, even after set-backs and difficulties. Hope you find that believe...

Very emotional poem. You structured it very well. The only critique I can give you is to somehow make the last line in the first verse longer. The rest of the poem flows very nicely. Keep up the good work.
