A Moths Tale

The heat is cinching my soul
The embers wanning, needing to be flamed
I learned this feeling from old
Yet, still, my heart rekindles from its maim

Spoken words written in letters of love and desire
Before you strike the match and burn my blood with fire
Watch these wings spread and fly free
Hovering above the inferno, I configure with intensity

Between Heaven and earth I loiter in a daze
Trying to figure out where this passion lies
Is it the lapis lazuli or the rubicund  haze
Is it the power to hold me captive or power to send my heart ablaze

After the gamble is taken, it won't be the same
Engulfed in my internal conclusion
Be it real or an illusion
I am just a moth drawn to the flame
