My Friend Arsenic-

Missing image

Man  known for integrity
Years of service for his country

Father, husband, son and friend
Reads the Bible from end to end
Is always there to help me through
Everyday with friendship true
Never angers, well no not much
Divine poet with an inner touch

Amazing, my forever friend
Reaches out with smiles to send
Serves his nation, proud to defend
Endless compassion, a heart of gold
No nonsense guy, a friend to behold
Intellect, with word meanings so deep
Christian friendship, forever to keep

Author notes

This is for my dear friend. We have been through so much. And our friendship is as strong as ever. We will always be here for each other. God Bless you. Sandy

that was outstanding...expressed beautifully...that friend has to be important to endure so many things...especially in a world poisoned...there's hope and safety in friendship...

    WONDERFUL COMMENT THANK YOU!!!!!

Hi Rudolf, I am glad you liked the poem. It is called an acrostic. Here is a link from my authors page on how to do different poetry. I do hope it helps.

I still have many forms to learn too. I have only been writing 2 years since I found this amazing sight. It is always nice to hear from you and read your comments. Take care, Sandy

A really nice poem...I think it was a really nice idea, and I would be really touched if someone went to the trouble of writing about me LOL Like someone above, I had expected a very different kind of poem at seeing the title, but this was really sweet...nice idea :-)

I read your poem afew times, each time i found something i missed before, then i realized that the title determines the lenght of the poem.I 'm relatively new at this and have no clue as to what this is called, fill me in if you would please.well written from the heart.rudolf

it was hard for me to associate the title at first, which is what grabbed me, a friend in poison, so you can imagine the poem wasn't anything that I expected. I was a touching tribute to your friend with a good meter and the rhymes kept the flow on beat. good job.
