Oh, sleep now, oh, sleep now, my sweet little fairy

Oh, sleep now, oh, sleep now, my sweet little fairy,
your mommy will sing to her princess, to you
a story of love, sometimes sad, sometimes merry
like sun rays asleep in a prison of dew.

Your eyelids will drop as your lips will be singing,
and then to that landscape of dreams you will sail,
your wings - purple suns to that place will be bringing
and mommy will tell you the rest of the tale.

Oh, sleep now, oh, sleep now, my sweet little fairy,
your mommy will dance through her evening with you,
your pouting small mouth like a summer’s ripe berry
will smile with a candor so pure and, oh, true.

Those golden, soft curls round your face tell a story
and paint in your cheeks little dimples, a smile,
my heart is alight with your innocent glory
forgetting to beat for a wee, little while.

Oh, sleep now, oh, sleep now, my sweet little fairy,
your mommy is yawning and she’s sleepy too,
so here is my kiss on the tip of your cherry
this night, little fairy, I’m cuddling with you.

This is just sweetness personified. I smiled with my eyes and heart when I read it. I especially like "wee, little while". That's very Scottish, you know. This is a land where everything is wee, from a wee cup of tea, to a wee sit down, to a wee bit walk in the open air. Which is just what I'm planning myself. Thank you so much for entering my contest.

    Hvala, and Laku noc !

This is so beautiful. The picture alone is breathtaking... I am just stopping in to apologize for the delay in the judging... I have had some unfortunate things to come my way, and was unable to judge. Mina was kind enough to await my return before making the choices. Thanks again for a delightful read! It is absolutely incredible!

A beautiful thought for those of us.

You are a good mother, I see that long ago. This was so beautiful & sweet. A child can hold us so close to them. You cannot help but love them & want to be near them. Sis this was so wonderful.

    Love you much

This is a nice and sweet piece, though it seems to be lacking some words here and there for example in this line, "With golden curls around little face." I would think it would be, "with golden curls around YOUR little face."

Anyway, I hadn't read a fairy themed poem in quite some time,so it was nice to see. Keep it up!
