Lest We Forget

I can still recall what I was doing that fateful day when the world stood still.  I was on my way to work.  A coworker told me when I arrived to work that terrorists had bombed the World Trade Center in New York City.  I just felt a sick feeling in my stomach.  I really thought to myself this is it.  This is the end of this world.  But we're all still here five years later.

Today as we go about our daily lives of making a living let us pause to reflect on all those that lost their lives.  Jesus tells me I need to forgive those that hurt me and persecute me...I'm still working on that one.  Jesus also said to pray for our enemies and those terrorists sure are NOT my friends so as I reflect and pray for those families that lost loved ones on that fateful day I'll also say a prayer for those that have inflicted pain.

Lest we forget....September 11, 2001

Here it is almost another anniversary of 9/11 coming up soon. Why haven't they been able to catch BinLaden and bring him to justice? May all those who were touched by that fateful day six years ago find the peace that surpasses all understanding that only can come through knowing Jesus.

    Unforgetable!

Very nice. A sad but memorable day that no American citizen
will ever forget. I was right there in NYC working in midtown
the day the WTC was struck down. I'm old enough to remember
when the towers were first built. I was a child in grade
school. How exciting it was when those awesome structures
went up in the sky. Now the skyline is destitute.
It makes me so angry and melancholy all at the same time.
It just shows that nothing last forever and anything man
made can be destroyed. That's why I learn to trust in God.
My prayers and fondest wishes go out to each and everyone
who lost a loved one or suffered because of 9/11.
    WE SHALL NEVER FORGET!!

I, too, can recall that day so clearly... a friend called me and told me to turn on my TV ( I don't normally watch TV )... and there it was, reruns of what happened only minutes before. Unbelievable, horrible, all those people ...this can't be happening, I said outloud.

A day that will burn in our minds forever, I think.

You'vwe written very poignantly of this day and how it has effected you, your thoughts. A very good write, sincere and from the heart.

Yes, this is something that we will probably never forget. Imagine how their survivors feel?MG

I can half understand why they crashed into the Pentagon, but to murder over three thousand unarmed innocents, just to make a statement. I cannot, nor will I ever, understand this type of murderous mentality.
It is cowardice as never seen before.

    Best Regards,
    Bluff

There was a pause for silent remembrance all over the UK today. My throat tightened and eyes filled with tears as I thought of the two who were photographed holding hands as they jumped... not something that is possible to forget.

    good

each one of us must come to terms with the damage
inflicted to our country and to our sanity that
day. I know the bible says to pray for your enemies
and I am glad you are able to do that. this is a
good write as you to try to do what so many of us
are doing, still trying to figure this all out
    five years later. good write.

I sometimes wish I could forget that day. We always watch news reports about war in other countries, but don't think about how it feels for them to get attacked until it happens to us. I suppose the Lord's plans are not ours to know, we just have to trust that He knows what He's doing . . .
