Cloudy Day, Rainy Days, Grey Days

billy took my drugs back because
I couldn't pay with the faded bills
and the scratched coins
and the tattered checks...

Now I'll have to use my
thoughts to get

(s)h
  i
   g
    h
     .
      .
       .

I wanted to call you other day
But you weren't home.
Did you get my message?
Did you move away, tired of the
old, usual (but strangely, comforting)
problems and concerns we deal with
daily
in high school?

did you have better things to do; were you stu
dying for another test.
They're always, always testing us, aren't they?

Or did you simply
For get to check you answering machine.

Author notes

I'm so tired lately, and I'm in high school now. Plus I haven't written in a while. I've also been listening to a lot of Death Cab for Cutie. This was on the spot.

First two things I thought of: you shaking your backpack and hearing the coins rattle, then pulling out dollar bills. Your impression of shojo ("Oh Billy!") and your impression oh shonen-ai ("Oh Billy!") Besides that, yes the sigh/high thing is awesome! And for some reason I really really like the end. It's.... cool. right. I dunno. It works... well... very well. I dunno!
