Through a vision I saw my life
two hundred years ago
Running through a forest
with arrows and my bow
Hunting for wild game
antelope, deer and geese
I was the runner for my clan
I delivered words of peace
Already 15 moons had passed
I was dreaming of a bride
Long life wasn’t in the plan
because, that is when I died
That night, there was a full moon
in the autumn of the year
As I jumped over a rock
I fell upon my spear
I lay there looking upwards
gasping for my breath
Not feeling any sorrow
this would be an honored death
I thought about the elders
how they'd taught me to be a man
I thought about my family
and I thought about my clan
I was surprised that I was ready
I can’t give a reason why
I guess my soul was destined
to run with spirits in the sky
