Starry Skies

It’s a really cold night, tonight
Staring up into the darkened skies
It’s empty, there’s no soul in sight,
I’ll just have to look up at the stars.

Climb up on the roof
I need to get high up, closer.

Brought a blanket and hot coffee,
It’s a nice view from up here
I can even see the river pier
But I want to focus on just the stars

Sip some hot coffee
I wish I had a telescope.

They’re little globes of sapphire
In a sea of crepuscular dark
Waving off whitened fire
From millions of miles away

What did you think
