Cut-glass

Missing image
syncope's scythe
slashed memories to shreds
cut-glass is a dangerous irony

.

do you remember asking me:

is there something that a woman needs
beyond tenderness
beyond that of being with a gentleman?

and do you remember my answer:

yes
there is
but then:
should that woman be me
and not the woman you love
my words will not help you
I cannot speak for other women
I can but voice my needs

I will speak as I then
perhaps you will understand
your woman too
if she is anything like me:

I am looking for total
and unconditional acceptance
and protection from pain
I am looking for a heart
to house
my heart

are these the needs your woman feels?
is she like me?
then give to her what she needs
she will love you
she may probe you by saying you are perfect
because she needs you to be more honest
about your vulnerability

who can say?

that is: if she is ever so slightly
a bit like me

..

I discovered words in drawers
words I have written to you
about joy and sorrow

perhaps I understand the garden of eden
now somewhat better after losing you

...

the order of words is ordered by the Muse
and within the order of Love
there is but one Muse
and that is Love

would you muse me?

....

truth is only truth if it stands for truth
and love is only love
if its seeds grow love

truth or love is sufficient
unto teller and lover
for the liar knows neither truth nor love

The love of your life is never further away than one heartbeat, even if according to this world there is an infinity separting you from him. But this world knows nothing whatsoever. It only thinks it does. Dimensions, time, it all belongs to this illusion that is incapable of perceiving or imagining anything else because it has existed inside illusion all the time. This poem in all its eloquency answers the questions it contains in ways words are not used to. Ack,

    Full of wisdom

Dear poet, you write a very probing poem and so rich with self disclosure and discovery. how honest you are with yourself, that is how i see this, your own veracity, so tenaciously held and presented offers a plumb line straight and true to allow you to fairly answer a (perhaps) deceptive question. I particularly am impressed with the way you present the contrast, yourself with the other woman, the contrast of Muse and muse and the contrast of truth. The way i understand the truth of a thing, a situation, is to spend time in silence with One who speaks all truth, waiting at the open door. It is obvious to me, you have set your base camp at that very doorstep and have been granted deep, eternal, abiding wisdom offering you clarity when called upon. Blessings and best wishes, ~richard

I agree with leo, Myra... and that of course means agreeing with you I read and reread this very profound and poignant poem, thinking all the while...this is me she writes of, this is my needs of which she speaks so eloquently and gently. Could it be that even in our differences, we women are all alike.

I read somewhere in a medical report that women crave chocolate because it contains something our bodies need. Could it be that we crave true love because it's something our hearts and souls require?

For the man who can understand and accepts what you've set forth here, he is a very fortunate man for he will be much loved.

    Kudos, Myra

These lines say it all. They are the very essence of love. We all would be better off taking your advice on this subject.

    Sincerely,
