Storm of Sorrow

STORM OF SORROW

I can see the sorrow coming
like a dust storm across the plains
it's heading straight towards me
as it swiftly blows in the pain

I once heard a saying that stated
if you hold too tightly, it'll seep right through
so I held onto our love ever gently
but still, I know I am losing you

I had to let you go for a while
missing your gentleness and all your charms
knowing it was the right thing to do
and sent you right back into her arms

I know I'll always have your spirit
and the passion that resides within
but it always comes at such a cost to me
doing right, I can never win

Yes that dust storm is getting nearer
as I brace to hold on for the worst
the pain will be unbearable
your love can never quench my thirst

Oh, but how life is fleeting
the only promise of which I have to depend
I'll hold on in the storm for as long as I can
loving you always, right to the end.

Sometimes we just have to do what is best for us and forget everyone else. Sometimes it is the only way that we can access our true feelings and be able to make sane decisions. Wonderfully done piece, it grabs you at the beginning stanza and keeps you there, in the moment, in the emotion. Excellent! Blessings, Gypsy

Well, if it's sappy, you do sappy very well, Penny I find this to be a superb and heartwrenching piece. True or not, it has the depth of truth and heartbreak.

The feelings come through with every line, you did a superb job with this... I hope it isn't true personally

It's so good to see you posting again... you just need to do it more often

    love and
    Dee

    superb

No, not sappy at all. It states how deep and true your love will endure till the bitter end or rainbow of rapsody.
I love your meter and flow and rhyme when it is necessary.

hang in there girl, they always come home in the end.
