Sometimes God puts an angel in our lives,
to help deal with day-to-day things.
He'll send her as a special friend,
with many blessings that she brings.
She'll listen when you need to talk,
without condemnation.
She'll share in the happiest times,
joining in on your elation.
No matter what the time of day,
she's there when you need her.
She'll fast and pray to God above,
when she feels the Holy Spirit stir.
She'll pray for intercession,
to the Almighty Intercessor.
Wanting to lift my burdens,
to ease me of my pressure.
She's selfless and thoughtful,
giving and so kind.
This unique friend is God sent,
and I'm glad that she is mine.
So let me share this day with you,
a celebration of your precious life.
For you should be showered,
with love and joy that's rife.
Friends come and go,
some not fast enough.
But you my friend are stuck with me,
if you don't like it that's just tough.

I think that is so funny that someone would try to help you "improve" your poem-I'm thinking ~have they been by to see your homepage?
Kind of like telling Sister Teresa when she was alive how she could be a better servant. -

As to the piece itself it is a touching piece, but personally I did find it a little rough in places and so the flow could be developed further, as an example I'd like to suggest an alternative stanza if I may as an example of what I mean:
