Sitting, alone
just watching the day pass by.
Wondering where he is,
wondering why oh why.
Splatters on the window pane,
a tear rolls off the cheek.
Silent echoes ring out loud,
in solitude, left weak.
A cloud drifts by,
hides the sun,
and all it's brightened rays.
And once again,
a storm closes in,
tells of bitter days.
The thunder in the distance,
it's the thudding of my pain.
And tears fall ever faster,
to match the pouring rain.
Lightning in the sky,
I wish that spark would hit my heart.
Instead I feel the hurting
as it's ripped apart.
Why I ask,
why.
What is it I've done wrong?
But no answer ever comes,
always the same old song.
I close my eyes and think
if I slept in eternal peace tonight,
would tomorrow be different,
would there be a light?
But the rolling thunder shatters
the thoughts within my mind.
Even in these dreams,
there's no peace for me to find.
I raise from the window
and to the bed I go.
To lay within my silence
and the tears I'll never show.
