Last Lullaby Here (pixiku)

Singing to bring the past to mind, I lie alone in the dark.
Tomorrow will come to soon. So remember,
"...This old world must still be spinnin' 'round. And I still love you."

Author notes

A reflection on leaving home.
The line in quotes taken from a song that my dad used to sing me when I was a little girl.

Title taken from the song "Last Lullaby Here" by George Winston.

    Thank you so much!
I'm so glad you liked it. It's a very heartfelt poem, because I really did that. I laid in my bed the night before I left and sang all the songs I could remember to calm myself down because I was so scared to leave for college. (Actually, it just made me sadder...)
Anyway, thank you for your kind words!

    love.

    Beautiful x's 2 (Pixiku & author's comments)

This is beautiful and your author's comment complements and enriches what you have written. I guess just fine since you have part quoted in quotes and reference to George Winston in author's comments. I LOVE when a poet takes the reader to the point of origin from where inspiration arose as you have in your author's commnets.
