Got up one morning without a care
Didn’t make his bed, just wanted to romp
He found a puddle and began to stomp
He got all wet, drenched to the bone
He knew his ma would growl and groan
So he lay under the sunny sky
Waiting for his fur to dry
While he waited he fell asleep
And dreamt about the Serta sheep
One was jumping on his bed
And one was eating all the bread
One had on his mother’s hat
Another was chasing down the cat
Then the phone started to ring
That’s when the leader began to sing
A voice so shrill the birds did flee
As he sung backwards, five - four - three
He thought to himself, he needs a rehearsal
How can these sheep be in a commercial?
When puddles awoke he was so tired
He felt as though he had been wired
So he ran home and burst through the door
Saying- MOM burn my mattress,
I’ll be sleeping on the floor

This is another little gem! Although the meter did slip a little in some places, it still made me chuckle, and I'm sure children the world over will appreciate this little lamb's tale!
