I have written this because I have seen my mother-in-law forget her family members due to Alzhiemer's Disease.

    Lovely.

This also puts a face on the disease. I love haikus and this says a lot in a few words. The face in the picture is real familiar to me. I knew a lady in Virginia that looks like her.

I am so sorry about your mother in law Alzheimers is a terrible condition for the person who suffers from it---and for those that love that person and remember the way they once were.Your words seem to speak volumes for this illness-----not recognising even the ones that they loved the most thank you for entering and best wishes in the contest,

    reenie

    is that you?

i like the way you have written this haiku with its one clean break at the end of the second line.

it's an open-ended haiku, which is what hakuists strive for. before i read your poet's comments i thought this may have been somebody who had lost a lover and was seeing their face everywhere they looked.

    best wishes for the contest,
    myron.
