The Desk Before Me Offers Its Salutations

The suggested metaphor is
persian rug floor mats
             or door mats
                                 because we will
accept anything he says
if he uses chalk to express it
                    but impressive
             isn't my impression
            and I'm so pressed in
                                             to this tiny
chair as the person behind me fidgets
and kicks his flailing legs at
a system that either doesn't exist
or thrives off his disrespect,

that I can almost
feel myself giving in
to stop the pressure.

In a rush of panic
and rebellion, I write
"Hey" back
     but only on paper
                 so I can crumple it
                 up and swallow it if
                 I get caught.

This is really great. I can relate a lot. But it'll definitely get better with time. I'll be sure to read some more!!
