the direction

kindness and affection
mask madness and discontent
i fear the reoccurrence of a rainstorm
in my head

what is to proceed i worry
for not knowing enough, not caring
looking for all the good
i guarded myself from isolation
while enjoying the taste of your skin
your body beside my own

the fire grows beyond capability
i sit and watch wedged between
deliverance
and
insecurity

i can not smell you
my body longing to
savor
it
all
once
more

the course you move is calling
tearing me in two
the way you move is
crucial
my world is bending without

you

Author notes

This poem is about losing that one true love. Sometimes we can not be with the one who loves us. We must walk separate paths.
