Perhaps it’s the end
Darkness lingers at the edges of my vision
That taste lingers within my mouth
Sweet?
Sour?
I cannot decide
My mind rebels
Urging me to move
Get up
The taste lingers still
Sending my soul scattering to the winds
Redeeming
Condemning
Surely at the point it’s all the same
Happenstance
A fraction of a moment
Nothing to stop it
His taste…
It lingers still
Sending my whole body into confusion
My forbidden fruit
To dangerous to obtain
To beautiful to let go
I consumed him as he consumed me
Is there anything left of us now?
As the darkness closes in
His face looms in my vision
Another taste
Satisfy my fix
That lingering taste…
That forbidden fruit…

Such a beautifully sensual and alluring write. I absolutely loved this. The only thing that hindered my reading were these lines,
"To dangerous to obtain
To beautiful to let go"
where "to" should be "too" as in "too much" of something.
Never underestimate the power that smooth grammar can have on your poetry.
thanks the for entry,
