An Open Letter to My First Born Child

My Dear Child,

Welcome to my life my precious little one, I am responsible for the person you shall become. I have long awaited for this time to arrive, now I lay here and watch you thrive. I will be there to wipe the tears, and I will always calm your fears. Your first step, and first day of school, I will be there so you never look the fool. Your first dance and graduation, I will help you form a good foundation. I know it seems crazy to some, to know I’m writing to one so young. But I just wanted to let you know, that I will be there to help you grow. Don’t ever be afraid to say you're wrong, because in the end it will make you strong. There is just one more thing I want to say, and that is I promise to love you more each day. You already fill my heart with pride, so much so it cannot hide. And if my love you ever doubt, all you need to do is take this letter out.

Love MOM

Thanks Biciaksr. Glad you liked it. You may not have letters from your Mom but you can write letters for your own children so they can have them.

    Deeply felt

I think you will be like my Mom was. I'm willing to bet you can communicate that whole letter with a look and a smile. All good Mom's can. I want to say that there is a lot of feeling in the letter but that is not true. The feeling buest out of the letter and in to the heart of the reader. I know that it made me think of a time when I felt that loved. Thank you
    Much Love

Thanks for the comment Just-another-girl. I was actually thinking of my sons when I wrote it and how I would want them to remember how I felt when they were born.

Beautiful. I can just imagine a grown woman/man opening an envelope with a letter written from their parent when their life was going down. It's beautiful. Great write. Keep it up!
