Have you ever had a friend,
who stayed by you, and helped you in your darkest times,
instead of running away?
Have you ever had a friend,
who cared for you,
no matter what?
Have you ever knew a person who you loved,
for whom you would have given up your life for,
but you knew you were too late.
because you were too shy or scared,
and in the moment you wasted,
she was gone,
and you were left alone.....
friends are friends forever.
they never leave your hearts,
no matter what happens.
but that's big talk for someone,
who never had one.

Great choice of title
I know some Italian and knew it had to mean something about friends.
This started off as a poem I thought was about a beautiful friendship, but as I kept reading I knew I was wrong. The ending is a very powerful twist.
However I would suggest either starting every sentence with a capital or every sentence without a capital. It seemed a little mis-matched the way you had it.
This piece is definitely thought-provoking

I don't think I've ever had a friend who was "always there." I haven't actually had many friends and I guess none have ever been PERFECT... which is sad, but I doubt that I have been the best friend I could be to others... oh well. I'm stuck in the vicious circle!

I am perplexed. To show my ignorance I looked up amicitia on Dictionary.com and it is not listed.
I think you wrote a beautiful poem on true friendship, and I wish you good luck in the contest, But unless someone misspelled something, I'm in the dark on this one. I'm sorry I do not like to leve a negative comment, but I'm stumped. Cheryl
