There was a sin
An, oh, so terrible sin
A in that is being repeated
Over
And
Over
Again
And those who commit this
Oh, so terrible sin
Don't even know
What they have done
Wrong
There was a life
An, oh, so beautiful life
With so many
Opportunities
And
Chances
But the little spark
That shows this life exists
Has been blown out
This poor life has been turned
To death
Without doing anything
Wrong
There was a mistake
An, oh, so foolish mistake
That a woman has done
And the life
That new, beautiful life
Has been punished
For what the woman
Who almost became it's mother
Has done
Wrong
There was an innocent
An, oh, so very innocent child
That was killed
It did nothing wrong
All it did was exist
But it still had to
Die
Such a sin
Such an, oh, so terrible sin......

i truly think abortion is wrong, no matter what the reason. the child did nothing wrong, don't kill it for any mistakes you made!!!

This is not a bad write for a young poet. You express yourself in a very strong 'voice' and obviously care about your subject.

I am so sorry that you were raped. I missunderstood your comment, I thought you were saying bad things about my poem. Where do you live? Abortion is still being debated in the USA, where I live, it is still a debating issue on whether is right or wrong. I congratulate you for dealing with being raped, but I just don't agree with your desision. But, whatever, it wasn't up to me, it was up to you.

i never said your poem was wrong, and i did enjoy the poem, my comment was left on your comment in the authors box. don't judge me by what i think. some people can't deal with having a child from rape, i know i sure couldn't, and not just mentally, but emotionally as well. have you been raped? i have. i had my virginity stolen from me, so i din't get to share it with the person that i fell in love with, but do people judge me when i tell them that? no, they welcome me with open arms. when i tell people that i aborted a rapist's baby, they congradulate me for having the courage to do something that scarey, and it was scarey, to have to suffer the rape, and the abortion. i told many people flat out "if i don't get rid of this baby, i will kill myself, because i know that i won't e able to handle it (mentally or emotionally)"
no one cares about rape victems in society, because it happens too much, and no one cares anymore.... no one in this city, cares if a baby gets dumped in a trash can, but they car about a little thng like a tree falling over... now you know about how the society i live in is.... abortion could be my only option, so that i don't die.... my mom could beat me to death. she punched me in the back of the head today, so what would stop her from killing me? or my baby, if she lets me have it? she'd have to watch it while i'm at school, and i don't want that! i'd rather drop out! she will kill me and my baby, i'd rather live so i can have kids, than die for one kid that isn't even born yet. -
i know that!!! but you should not take away a life for some horrible situation. I mean, if your "mother" got raped and decided to get an abortion, you won't be here. You could've not existed! And you did NOTHING!!!
Also, if a teenager or someone got raped and doesn't want to keep the baby because their not old enough to raise a child, don't take away a life. Give it up for adoption! There are plenty of couples that want to have children that can't. The baby could have a great life with that couple, but the teenager took that life away from them.
I consider abortion a mistake. So that can be what the woman does wrong!!!
Just ask questions about my poetry, don't act like I'M wrong when you don't know exactly what I'm saying. I'm sorry, but to me, thats rude. You AREN'T in my mind YOU didn't write the poem. There for you don't know what I mean.

WOW! That truly did touch my heart Caroline..What a refreshing yet one of the most impt issues relating to society! Abortion is wrong we all know that but still we see woman performing such kinda acts..Like ruth says how can they just consider them a mass of cells..there is life and everything that we have with the baby and destroying them is to prove that u have no heart at all ! This is a very serious and hurting issue u have addressed but in a way that leaves an impression on the readers mind.! Very Good!
Now the poem, touches the core of the reader and is very deep and from the heart and leaves a question to one whethere this is right or not! The an , oh style I really like and the way that there is no more life cos someone who bears it doesnt want it and has killed it is very clear and moving! The poem has power to speak and has done that very well! I am very impressed to read such an excellent write! Hats off to you..

I don't believe in abortion but I also believe that women who go to these clinics are not educated as to the fact that this is a baby not just a mass of cells. I think that some women's sins lie only in the lack of knowledge and proper upbringing...either way, a sad situation.
