I made a mistake. What else is new?
There's no turning back. There's nothing to do.
A new life is going to be born into this world.
Why did this have to happen to this seventeen year old girl?
I told my mother and I told my father.
With their reaction, why did I even bother?
My best friend won't even look at me.
Is this the way my life is supposed to be?
Apparently, I fell in love with the wrong boy.
I guess he believed my heart was his toy.
He gave me a part of him and now he's gone.
No matter what, I have to move on.
There's no giving back what he gave to me.
I see no way to make him see.
I'm going to do it. I'm going to move on.
Whether I like it or not, I'm going to be a mom.
I tried to get a father involved.
But as of right now, that's a still a problem unsolved.
I'm going to have to love this baby like no other.
After all, I am going to be his single teenage mother.
Author notes
based off of my friend. she was 17. the dad's gone. i don't know how old he was for sure. i think that he was 17, too, though.

I'm lovin it :)
I like this poem and i know how it feels to not have a dad in your life. Great work. keep it up.

wow, this actually happens to a lot of teenage mothers and they struggle. sometimes the guy doesn't leave right away but he does leave and it's just sad. why would you leave your child. it's not right. this is a really good piece and I hope all is well for your friend. all she can do is be the best mother there is...even if she's a single mother. some kids need a father figure around but if the father wants no parts....then how can that happen. all she can do is try and pull through it all and I'm sure she would be great with her kids...with it just being her and all. great piece. very well written.

Very good job. Nice rhyming! Oh sure she says you did everything right...what's that mean about mine...LOL just kidding. Good write! LM

she did have the baby... he'll be three here soon. she had another baby last year as well. i don't think that baby's dad is involved either. i'm glad that you enjoyed it. thank you for reading.

Rhyming is good in this, set up is great too.
You've done everything right
I'm not used to contestants doing that.
So I'm curious, did she have the baby in the end?
Sometimes, I believe, if a baby's dad ain't going to be a proper dad, then not having a dad is better for the child.
Thanks for entering.
