Up With the Sunrise

Your rain falls to the earth,
And I wonder just what I’m worth on days like this.
You tell me that I am strong,
But some days I feel I don’t belong.

Your sunrise lights the morning sky,
And you keep me around, though still I wonder why.
What use am I to you?
What's the best that I can do?

You give me strength to believe.
And you lift me up when I'm on my knees.
You're someone I'll follow.
Lead on, North Star.

You make me right when I fall,
And you give me strength to carry on.
But just what am I here to do?
How can I possibly help you?

You’ve got a master plan,
And somewhere, I fit into your grand designs.
But some days, it’s all I can do,
Just to get out of bed and pray to you.

So how will I know?
How can I know?
Where do I fit in?
And what is my purpose?
Some days it seems useless.
Some days I am clueless.
Sometimes it seems fruitless.
Sometimes I can’t do this.

But you make me right when I fall.
And you hear me every time I call.
And you know me better than I could,
And if you told me where to go, I would.

So I’m putting my trust in you,
Because I know that’s what I should do.
