The Long Road

Granna, please wait up for me

why are you moving so fast?

Walk slow and hold my hand

 talk to me,

tell me things long past

 Hurry, child,

 let's find a spot

where we can sit,

 rest a spell

I have so much to say

the most wond'rous stories to tell

 Granna,I don't see anything

except the long road ahead

 Can't we just stop walking

and sit upon the grass instead

The road is long,

my dear child there's

 much in life to behold

Patience is a virtue

there's so much time before you're old

Author notes

catz is my AP Granna and when I saw this picture..it just really jumped out and made me think of her. We decided to work on this together. Granna thanks for everything and for being a great romodel to me

    Darlings

    From two sides view
    one old, another new
    the same questions asked
    listen to my task.

    Yet age and youth
    two sides have proof
    that what they seek
    is listening so meek.

    Oh how I love
    to hear things thereof
    to see grannies back
    even her words smack.

    Yes, I envy you
    anyone with memories who
    knows the sweet wait
    of this double gait.

    Adorable

A wonderful collaberation, and a valued addition to my contest I feel a few periods wouldn't hurt since you're using commas and other punctuation . I love the metaphor of the road as compared to life's journey and whether we are starting of finishing that road. Adorable and loving. Kudos to you both!

great poem. it is very meaningful. and as "granna" says, looking for a seat, well, i guess that's part of the lesson, and how there is so much in life... th ejourney of life.

A nice poem :-) I liked the picture, an interesting one to use for this poem, and it sums it up well. I also liked the interchange between the older point of view and the child's point of view. It was a nice idea and a good subject matter...however, I felt that there could have been more substance to it. She says that she has many stories to tell...maybe telling some would work? As I'm sure she does. A nice poem :-)
