Some have dreams that remain
Even after the rain
Laughing one day
Then running away
But I remember so clearly
The memories I hold dearly
We give away our hearts
Days later we will be torn apart
We lend a helping hand
Days later alone we will stand
It the same routine
For the life of a teen
Sometimes we fall to the floor
Instead of looking for an open door
Tears fall down your cheek
Is this a sign of being weak
Months turn into years
And time disappears
But we are still stars in the darkened night
Trying to illuminate our potential light
Author notes
This poem was written when I was thinking about my life and how how most teenagers feel at certain moments.
