Some people believe in Anarchy,
Others believe in Bush,
Sometimes we believe in lies,
Because that is all "they" tell us.
CNN shows devastation,
But want us to show support,
To the other fighting nations,
That we have nothing to do with.
What about 9/11?
Have we already forgot?
How about all those that were lost,
When the Columbine kids were shot?
Advertisements tell us what not to do,
But then they promote sex and drugs.
They show the commercials on MTV,
But forget most viewers are 12 year olds.
Most of the time I watch life,
And think of what's to come.
What would happen to all of us,
If the government wasn't so corrupted.
Gas is too expensive,
I see what they're doing.
The obese kids are dying.
So the bicycles are selling.
Cigarettes are selling faster,
Pretty soon you could be too.
Selling your body on MySpace,
Then being the next "missing" on the news.
And EVERYONE want to be different,
Then why are we all the same?
Thinking that if we "label" ourselves,
Everyone else is to blame!
We listen to the radio,
They tells us what to do.
On how to loose 20 pounds,
(in a year or two)
So why is the world so angry?
Why do we all cry,
Whoever there is a war outside,
Whenever our neighbor just died.
So many different people,
On this tiny little dot.
Whatever happened to society,
Withing the cell-phones and Internet.
Now take a look around you,
What kind of mess do you see?
We need to start thinking of this world,
And what we are corrupting!

Great work and so very true! The media promotes every thing but our administration will only tell the society what it wants to. A good example is hurricane Katrina. the government claimed that they were not warned until a tape showed a meeting with the President. In the meeting all the tragedy that occured was discussed and ignored. Hell, it took several days for our administration to realize that there was a problem after the hurricane hit. To keep up with problems in our country would drive someone insane. thanks for sharing your work...I really enjoyed it!
