VERSE ONE
Look at me, hiding in the shadows,
The mistake you try so hard to forget,
But I'm always here,
And I refuse to fade away.
CHORUS
(I'm the one)
You hurt so many times,
(I'm the one)
You left me here to die,
(I'm the one)
But I'm still around,
And I'm gonna find you.
VERSE TWO
Here I am, no longer concealed by your lies,
You told them I was gone for good.
But I know the truth,
And I won't rest til it's been told.
BRIDGE W/ GUITAR BREAK
Do you remember me now? (screamed)
CHORUS x 2
Look at me, hiding in the shadows,
The mistake you try so hard to forget,
But I'm always here,
And I refuse to fade away.
CHORUS
(I'm the one)
You hurt so many times,
(I'm the one)
You left me here to die,
(I'm the one)
But I'm still around,
And I'm gonna find you.
VERSE TWO
Here I am, no longer concealed by your lies,
You told them I was gone for good.
But I know the truth,
And I won't rest til it's been told.
BRIDGE W/ GUITAR BREAK
Do you remember me now? (screamed)
CHORUS x 2
Author notes
A song that I play with my band, Dusty Velvet. I wrote it a couple of years ago. It's 'evanescence-y', piano with metal guitar. I think it's pretty cool.

cool =)
do you record your shit?
[I'm not actually calling it shit, it's just a generic word in my vocabulary lol =)] -
As i was reading this i imagined evanescence, so i was so happy when you mentioned them in your authors comment! I was actually thinking it is probably the exact opposite to 'even in death' by evanescence. This is a really awesome piece! i really wish i could hear it put to music, i think it would sound fantastic. the last bits that are screamed out also give it a great affect. sort of like, even beyond the grave there is no peace and silence, and there wont be until the truth is heard.
this is an amazing song! i really loved it, thanks for sharing.
also, i would like to say thanks for a comment you left on one of my poems 'winds of change' a long while ago. sorry it has taken me so long to return the favour!!
great piece :_ -
Actually and you may find it strange, but I could see it fitting perfectly done by Alice in Chains. Try imagining it in Layne Staley's voice and you'll see what I mean. Too bad he's passed on now from an overdose.
I like this song and would love to hear it played. -
This is an amazing song!!!
I can just imagine the band I like (Local band) singing it, the words are beautiful. I just loved it. I like the screamed line, and the fact it was screamed. Adds amazing effect. You're amazing hun

Good lyrics, dodgy sentiment though.
But thats the whole point really, depressing, dark, grunge.
Have you ever tried to write a song about something happy but done in a grunge style? I wouldn`t, it`ll wreck you.
I know from experience.
Try and get a studio where you can copy onto a disk and take it around everybody. If that doesn`t work get more copys and make it a white album and give them to people at concerts or in the street, it worked for me but then the happy-grunge song popped up and we went down. Plus if you try that way, when you`re huge they`ll be worth more.
