The Maker Knows (Pair of Poems)

If flowers could fly, I'd give my petals wings,
I'd flit aside the bustling, buzzing things;
My only puzzle: where am I to land?-
For flowers were not made to fly, but stand.

And so I stand impatiently to thrive,
But only when comes helper from the hive.
Yet, can a flower bear fruit without a bee?
Is there a future glowing bud for me?

The Maker knows the birds, the bees, the flowers,
And plans the years, the months, the days, the hours;
Someday I'll bare it in His gardens rife,
And find my stand beneath the Tree of Life.

As bee, I'm captured by the flowers fair,
Yet seek to find a flower with beauty rare,
But often I have only found my rest
Upon returning to my droning nest.

And so I buzz about, still seeking on
Until I think I've found the perfect one.
But, will I have to leave again to roam?
Is there not one that I can call my home?

The Maker knows the birds, the bees, the flowers,
And plans the years, the months, the days, the hours;
Someday I'll make my Love a honeycomb,
And find within His gardens rife a home.
