walking in the desert

i am walking in a desert
my barefeet hurt
and the sun is beat red
i am walking on a desert called life

the sand feels like needles
and it gets hotter with every step
i needed help
i needed to go through life
so that i will feel no more pain

i collapse on the ground
in desperate need of water
i drink the last of my saliva
my hands were shaking
my eyes were tearing

thats it life is to hard
i will lay here and wait for it to end

all of a sudden
a big glowing shape is in front of me
he was smiling and he said
"have some water"
i drank the holy water

Jesus bent down and lifted me up
he guided me to the right paths
and he put me down when i felt well enough
to walk through the desert
"i will always be with you"
he said

because of him, i am going through life
and i am walking down that desert
one step at a time
and i am going to make it
all i have to do is try.

    Great poem

Great religious and spiritual images here. The reader is transported to a hot, waterless desert. You can feel the desperation and tirdness of the walker in this piece as she collapses onto the hot sand. And then Christ appears with some cool cool water.

His water of Life. And this is the point of the poem I feel. That life is like a desert. We are parched from not drinking the 'Water of Life.'

We have abandoned Christ and abandoned what He can bring us. With His waters, we will never go thirsty. That is what this poem is saying to me. Again, though, great imagery in this piece. Well done.
