The boy looks past 1 more year,
A year full of happiness and peace.
To become a child with a new attitude,
and eat the laid table feasts.
May you have a very nice birthday,
With a nice big chocolate cake.
With gummy bears and cherries on the top,
And Gems toffees,it is a great make.
The desert is strawberry ice-cream,
With some drinks like Cola and Sprite.
You are having a wonderful 13th birthday,
Happy Birthday Blues,that's right!

This was a cute little snetiment for your friend, Autumn Whispers, although I felt that the rhyming was so pedestrian and predictable. The ending could have been stronger, but I don't really think it was too horrible. Hope she liked it.

Sweet
This connected me so much to my inner child and those days when I only looked forward to such delights as these. And wonderful they were...more in the anticipation of them, but never again like that first,(and last time), of my youth. Enjoy it and never lose that child-like awe and joy that being an innocent child brings. Yet, I felt a sadness in the poem...of things past and the cross road of being thirteen and realizing that this is the last celebration of childhood and the beginning of transitioning to adult hood. Always carry that fun-filled child within you! Never lose touch with him. Fun poem. it has good rhythm and rhyme.
