I asked the Lord for a favor tonight
I begged Him to harden my heart
Rip out the special memories
Keep the loving thoughts apart
I pleaded for the hurt to stop
And the love to go away
I no longer believe in it
Because it doesn't ever stay
I said 'I no longer want to care'
For it always hurts in the end
And when that special someone says "I love you"
It's only just pretend
I want to have no feelings
For anyone at all
I hope the Lord answers my prayer
And never ,again, lets me fall
