Last Week of Summer

Summer is quickly coming to an end
And look! Fall is just around the bend!
Back to school I’m about to go
To learn many things I don’t yet know

So now there’s no more sleeping in
That’s what happens when school begins
Have to set the alarm clock for five
Then off to school I have to drive

Have to put on clothes, shoes and socks
All to listen as the boring teacher talks
But oh well, that’s how life is, right?
At least I can catch up on sleep I miss at night

But wait! Summer is not over yet!
Let’s turn on the sprinkler and get all wet
So come on and go back out into the sun
Until summer is over, we’ll continue to have fun!

Thought up this poem last night before going to bed and it fits perfectly within this contest.  I was suppose to go back to school last Tuesday, but (long story short) I'm going this Monday. So ya, only 3 days left of summer and I'm work 14 hours just in the next two days  Thanks for reading!

    A cool poem, quite funny! I'm happy I have ten more days before I have to go back to school... I'm looking forward to it though...
    But I can understand your thoughts...

    Wow- Americans go back early, we go back in September. You probably start earlier than us or something, though. I liked this poem a lot. Keep writing, I liked the rhyme here

    I only wish that I could go back to school! I could have easily been a professional student and stayed in College until they kicked me out! I loved school and if not for the outrageous cost of it, I'd still be there! This is a great piece. It will still be like summer here for months yet to come. It is so HOT here in Florida. It may cool off a bit around late October... lol
