Why I'm Here

Cinderalla was a Prisoner,
Gretel had to Find her Own Way,
Simple Existance is no Fairy Tale,
We just Live it Day by Day.

With Youth we had our Safety,
With Youth we had our Fun,
With Age we think We've Seen Enough,
and then our Time is Done.

So Simple as IT Is,
To Wake up Once Again,
The Struggles never Easy,
The Pleasures in the Pain.

-

One more day here,
with everyone I love,
the wind blowing in my hair,
sun shining down on my face,
is worth *everything*

Author notes

    This write made me think

I love pieces that make me sit back and really look at live. To me Life is the most precious think in the word. And a lot of people take it for granite. These line I like the best and the way you expressed them. keep up the wonderful writes. LISA

Thank you Johnny & SweetAngil. I really appreciate your input & also for actually taking in what I was laying down. I almost killed myself when I was 18 before I realize that I didn't want to die, I just wasn't ready to live and sometimes I've got to admit that's still a bit of a struggle although I think I get by.

I enjoyed reading this poem. Rather than thinking about how special life is before reading this... I find that this poem has an uplifting quality that makes me take the time to think of how awsome it is to be alive. I wouldn't have pondered that(at this moment) if I hadn't read this poem. Great work. john

I can feel the distance and the unrelenting confusion of this poem. It is true noone knows why they are actually here but it is what you do that makes it YOUR life. You di very well with this write. I almost felt like a kid again. keep penning.
