A dedication to Richard Marx’s ‘Right here waiting’

Working late again one night
Music for companionship
Hit upon this wonderful song
It triggered thoughts long gone

It talked of the distance
Of love long lost
Of irreparable damage
And all that’s lost

How I felt forlorn
How I felt undone
Alone and un-givable to another
Forever abandoned and un-owned

It talked of sacrifice
Too late at dusk
When the larks are flown
And what’s left is only the moon

It talked of endless wait
As hopeless as it seems
It talked of undying belief
For what may never be

It brought back thoughts of you
Of all that we shared
Though little to you as it may seem
To me it seemed a lifetime of dreams

It strengthened the hope
That together one day we will be
In life or in death
That is yet to be seen

This happened a couple of weeks ago when I heard songs I associated with me and him, the old him that is not the one I am with now and it really made me remember... it hurt lots. Even though they were beautiful.

    Longing

Beautiful poem. I can sense the pain and longing, the tears upon hearing this song. It reminds me of when a certain song used to come on and I broke down. I understand completely how a song can remind you of the pain, even though they were the best days of your life. I wish you the best of luck in the contest, and in Love and Life.

I don't know what happened, but, it seems heartfelt, straight from your shattered but healing soul. I hope that you are okay and working through it. I'm not sure what else to say apart from this was a fantastic piece of writting. Good luck.
    Be safe.

    Love Re xXx
