The Ballad of The Barren

You say it doesn't make me worse
you say that you'll always love me
but till I'm dead I'll be distraught
I'm bound by things none but you see
I can't admit how I was blind
so long ago, etched in my mind
My memories toil once again
yearning for hope I'll never find

You tell me everything's all right
That I've not stolen anything
but as it looks to me, I'm barren
nothing to give you but to sing
but there's such sorrow in my voice
only my sadness would rejoice
I'll never have what once was mine
for my own failure was my choice

Don't say those three sweet words
you shouldn't waste you're heart on me
for though, you say you won't regret
into the future, one can't see
Would I force you to leave? Never.
but till death forces us to sever
I only want the best for you
because I will love you forever
