To all the people that we leave behind,
They always wonder where we have gone,
So they look up to the skies,
And they ask us questions,
That they already know,
Deep down in our hearts,
But they still ask those questions,
That we might find some piece in our hearts,
And maybe the hurt that we have in our hearts might go away.
So dad I am asking you this question,
Why did he have to take you?
Couldn't he have taken someone else?
My heart cries day after day,
Because he had to take you away from me,
Before I had the chance to tell you something very important,
And that was that I love you from the bottom of my heart.
And what makes me even sadder is that,
I did not even get to give you a hug goodbye.
Well at least I can give it to you,
Every night in my dreams.
And I get to say I love you too.

Your husband is an honest write. This didn't have stuff to cover up the meaning and I really love that.

Death is the hardest thing to cope with. This is a beautiful poem, and a very touching piece written by your husband for his father. I also had lost my father and also my son. It touches my heart. Great job and best of luck in the contest.

A very touching poem, I enjoyed reading it very much. I believe the death of a loved one is one of the hardest things a human being has to deal with. Nobody can really imagine the pain until you have lost someone yourself. Much enjoyed!

dad's are very special and we miss them so much when they are gone, there is always something we don't get to say to loved one's bacause we never know when they are going to go. your dad would be very proud indeed of you for what you have written, I liked it very much. if you have the time please read (dad) and (guardian angel) by me.
