She Became a Hoe

She walks the streets
Mainly at night
Her turf she maintains
To the best of her might

Abuse is her job
The money she saves
All the while working
To an emotionless grave

Afraid and scared
Of the men she is to please
They pick her up
Then treat her like sleaze

Sometimes she is beaten
Often she is bruised
There is no emotion
She is always just used

They see the sadness
Between her eyes
But choose to ignore it
As they slide between thighs

She has so much beauty
Why is she in this place
They do not care
As they cum on her face

The morning arrives
She is tired and weak
As the last John pays her
For being his freak

She walks down the street
Not to her home
She has one more stop
She is never alone

Thinking of her life
How she never finished school
The mistakes she made
Because she thought HE was cool

She picks up her son
As they open the door
For she is a mother
Supporting him as a whore

This is about a girl I knew when I was in high school. She was 16 and would not tell who the father of the child was. I do know that he was also in high school. She was never really ashamed of what she did because she supported her child. She was a very awesome person, and she opened my eyes to a lot of things in my life. She never wanted people to judge her because she always said that until they had walked throug the stuff that she has walked through, in her shoes, they knew nothing of her life.

The girl is right you know, you can't judge someone til you've walked a mile in their shoes and if the shoes rub, you know you never want to wear them again. I liked this write as it was honest and based on a reality, that helps a lot with a poem. I also loved the raw emotion and you tell us the reader how it really is for someone who is a whore. ♥

Thank you very much for your comment. I was on the road to becoming where she was and she really turned my head to what it was like. She did finally get off the streets and got her life on track. I am really glad that you liked it.

THANKYOU!!! This is the first poem like this! I've been waiting actually, because this is the kind of thing that really says something! Being fucked by every single Tom, Dick and Harry that can't get a root from anyone else JUST so she can take care of her child!
I really love this, even though I hate it. I hate it should happen, but I love what sort of message it portrays.

Excellent work, Thankyou for entering my contest!

    great poem

this is a really excellent write. you wrote with such flow and also as if you knew the true feeling of the employed street worker. this is an emotional write that gives a different view to the girls who dress and act as they do. great job excellent write for being new to the poetry thing.
