This is beautiful, your face
turned out to the Bay, shadows
of cedar fronds playing on your body,
blue haze across the far shore. Do they beckon?
Don’t listen, love, turn away and come back
to the fire you have started without an axe.
Those two trees, grown together close enough
to fit a large log between, and your pry against
long limb, snaps it, and firewood leaps
to your feet to be fed to that which will end it.
This is beautiful, your face
traced by the campfire, flickers
as you hunch over the coals, looking,
as if there was a miracle being scribed
for you, for us. That is my wish, leaning
into my drooping canvas chair, watching
the moon rise high enough to be your halo.
Images burned in the Best Loved Places
where I keep portraits and moments of awe.
Ah, this is beautiful, your face.

thank you, Frozentearz. the good news and that it is nothing mroe than a scar of some kind in the lungs. We feel blessed but have been to heck and back over it. We went camping, although he was ill. There are still more tests, his heart, this time. But, I have a wonderful feeling about it.

We ahve indeed....such lvies as ours are soulfully met and soulfully needed methinks. What travels we have been on pale to this, do they not?

This is very like you and not like you my sister. Something is surely brewing in that head of yours. I can read the lines and can read the in between lines better. We need hours to talk, and pots of coffee to journey into our souls and find the answers. We again have come to a crossroad and again we will cross together.

Thank you, Lynda. I struggle, right now, with faith in futures and futues being part of faith, as you can tell. I appreciate your comments a great deal. Carol.
