For All The Years

My lips are stained from last night’s wine;
I reek of pub-stale smoke.
Yet, the only thing that keeps me alive
Is knowing you’re here, to the end.

If my hair falls out –
like lemmings off a cliff,
I’ll still have a cheery smile.
Because you know, I’m the same,
(as beautiful as before).

When my limbs give up on me;
Refuse to enjoy life’s adventures
You will not follow in suit – I know,
You’ll carry my joyous weight.

Then if the evening grows cold,
I slip away, and you shed a tear or two,
Do not worry my dearest love,
I will still be with you, always.
