Somewhere,
Amidst all these dilemmas
Of a life in the world,
The Poet was featured.
Just as the Creator
Awakened my consciousness
To the brightness of day,
So The Poet
Brightened my heart
To the subtle brilliance
Of night
These sweetest, most exotic
Perfumes of my love for him
Descend upon me randomly,
Inexplicably
Rushing through my senses
A delicate Deja vu
That leaves me yearning
To dream of him again
So irreplaceable,
So irrevocable
How do I go on
Without the poet in my life
In my eyes
We are one forevermore
Yet in reality
It was a one sided dream
Perhaps it was kind;
My awakening to the mystery of night
There's no denying
It was so much kinder;
My awakening to the light.

WOW! I like this poem a lot. So much said and so beautifully said. The imagery and emotions flowing out of it are beyond beautiful. You have done tremendous justice to the soul of a poet. I like the contrast between day and night. Nice use of metaphor in the poem. The third stanza is very touching and melted my heart. The last three lines are marvellous. There couldn't have been a better way to conclude this very touching and moving poem.
Congratulations on the Honourable mention!

Thank you dear Mikail,
Your words of praise mean a great deal to me. It was difficult to try to put into words an experience that was so much more a feeling than something that could be mentally explained.
~ I guess, really, that's the magic of the soul.
Love to you, Tara -
HOw rapturous this piece is. It screams of passion and energy! It is heartfelt and inspiration,a nd very revealing. The most intriguing thing about it, I think, is the bare honesty of the words. It is a magnificent thing when one can be so open and truthful! A fantastic write!!!

I think we are all born with a little poet inside of us, trying to get out
Some choose to acknowledge and some don't. Your poem captures the poets soul very well.

This was well written. Many ancient societies noted a connection between the soul, and the muse/inspiration for poetry. Good luck in the contest.
