Fly the foul fiend
Why’d you make that devil? Lord let me understand
That sneaky, snaky Satan, that got so out of hand?
Without that evil devil, I could be doing so well
Oh Lord, please take that devil and send him down to hell.
I went to church on Sunday. Down on my knees to pray
I want to be a good boy for fear of judgement day.
But first thing Monday morning the devil makes me feel
That it would be a good idea to lie and cheat and steal.
My wife’s a handsome woman. I’ll love her ’till I die.
I’ll cherish her and keep her and never make her cry.
But when that devil comes along and feeds me wine and beer
I’m game for fun and fun and games with any girl that’s near.
Oh Lord, they told me you were good and would take care of me
And yet you let this devil loose to be what he would be;
To find out all my weakness and to tempt me in my mind
And I will have to burn in hell. It seems a bit unkind.
Why did you make that devil?
Why did you make him bad?
If I thought you made mistakes
I think I'd think you had.
Why did you give him money
Lust, avarice and sin
And sex and drugs and rock 'n roll
And whisky, beer and gin?
Why did you make that devil? I just don’t understand
You must have known before you did the trouble that he planned.
Oh Lord, I hate that devil and all his works as well
Yes Lord, please take your devil and send him down to hell.

I don't know what to think of it. It sounds from the pleading tone in your words that you're having a hard time in dealing with temptations that are around you in the world. I think that we all have our own struggles to get past. i think that you did a good job of expressing yourself though. So thanks for featuring this so that we all had a chance to share your words and feelings with you!
