Loneliness
The mortars I can get used to
I’ve looked them in the eye
The convoys are still eerie
When they’re done I take a sigh
The dirt, the dust, the heat
Remind me I’m not there
It’s this loneliness that I can’t shake
Until I’m once more in you care
So send your letters and your e-mail
Be there when I call
Send a package and some pictures
To lift me from this fall
Author notes
Loneliness is the hards thing in the world to deal with. Remember don't forget those that are here and support them.

Charlie this is so sad, I wish there was something I could do to help ease your loneliness. I pray that things will get better over there so Iraq may soon stand on her own and you all may come home. Stay Safe! -

Lovely Poem
This was so very heartfelt. I do feel for you and what you must face there. How long have you been there? It is a wonderful thing you do. I read your authors page. I commend you for being there when you don't have to be.
