Psychedelic Intoxication

It'll give you all that love
Can give
The line of your life
Flying high
Body singing
Rejoicing.
Hypnotic, narcotic
Psychotic.

It'll show you who you are
Accept downfalls-
There is no exception to imperfection.
Phychedelic Intoxication;
Blow your mind away
With senses racing
To the highest mountain's peak.

Author notes

Couple of weeks ago I was at a party sharing a cigarette with an ex-cokehead. She told me all about her drug experiances, especially with psychedelics. About how cocaine can teach you about yourself, but how you have to accept the good with the bad to get the full experiance. It's something I'd never touch, but it did make me think.

    ROCK ON

This is fantastic!!! Your words are amazing! I especially like the lines
    "Accept downfalls
There is no exception to imperfection"
This poem is interesting. I have never done drugs or smoked cigarettes. My brother was a druggie, but never saw him when he was full out stoned, so this is inexplicable insight. Thank you very much for writing this.
I'm really glad that you said you wouldn't touch it. It shows real character.
    God bless!

Class A drugs are an odd topic for me. While I'd like to say I'd try anything once, with the state of illegal drugs these days, there's a helluva lot I'd never do because I don't want to be smoking talcolm power or chalk (or worse..). I believe all drugs should be legalized and controlled- it's a person's choice what they put in their body- prohibition hasn't stopped people doing drugs, it's only a method of harm maximization. If people are properly educated on drugs (what can and can't be mixed, the effectgs and how to handle them, basic dosages and ingestion methods, etc etc), most of them (in pure form) are extrememly safe to use.

Take MDMA (ecstacy) for example. You hear all the time about deaths from it. But in fact, it's not the drug itself, or people overdosing on it. It's the fact that they were never told how much was in it, and how mcuh water to drink as a result of how much of the chemical is in their body. That, or they hear people can dehydrate, and end up drinking so much they flood their brain and die from that. They just happen to have the drug in their system so the media hypes it up.

But yes, cocaine isn't something that I can say intrigues me much- I'm more into halloucinogens (but no acid- too dangerous) like mushrooms and salvia (then than cannabis). The only time coke is going up my nose is in a hospital having my nasal cavity numbed to have pollyps removed...

Sorry for the rant, it's just something I happen to know alot about, and frankly, something more people should know more about. Thanks for the comment

      With love,
      Katie xx

P.S. I'm not much of a smoker- only when I drink and am offered. Dirty habit really.
