No matter what the miles,
I know I found a friend.
Her love o'er the ocean,
To many she does send.
So many ways alike,
Yet two worlds apart.
When I've been down and sad,
She offers up her heart.
We've shed tears together,
We've laughed when we can
And though the sea's between us,
I'm glad to call her friend.
We've battled as opponents,
Then joined forces in our war.
Wished upon the stars at night,
The same things and so much more.
Yes miles may be between us,
But a friend I found in her.
In fact, it's more than that,
She's my blessed AP sister.
I just want to thank you Anne, for all the encouragement you have offered to me. It means more than I can express in some piddly poem, and I hope you know that.

Thank you for the comments. And the opportunity to pay tribute to a wonderful lady who has been there so many times for me.

Great job! I loved the title of this poem; it really summed up the whole write. I also loved the stanzas ‘We've battled as opponents,
Then joined forces in our war.
Wished upon the stars at night,
The same things and so much more.
Yes miles may be between us,
But a friend I found in her.
In fact, it's more than that,
She's my blessed AP sister.’ I liked the line where you revealed that you were talking about your AP sister…it was a pleasant surprise.

This is so sweet. I saw the title and immediately knew I had to read it. I made a few friends about two years ago, now, scattered accross the US and the world. I have not seen them face-to-face in a long time, and I just love the emotions this poem conveys. I can relate, in some ways. =D
