~*~ Rain Blessings ~*~

Two young children
     escaped from indoors
          Chanting with high voices
               for the skies to hear

They held hands
.....Jumped in the air
Weightless
like the eagle in flight

Hair strands drenched
     with their clothes attached
          to their tiny bodies

Their arms flapped wildly
imitating the cranes
in the nearby pond

Cerulean liquid pools
     invited them for a dip
          along the concrete blocks

Big viridian toads
entertained the two
as they played
Leap frog

Mouths opened.....
     Hoping to catch a sliver~~
          A taste
                  of Life

Both gathered Lotus petals
that had drifted..... their way
Carefully with trembling fingers

A call from the window
     awoke them from their Dreams
          Their tears merged
               with the droplets.....
                    on the slick road

The children waved~~
and blew kisses..... upwards
Thankful for the rain
to feed them once again

Author notes

Rain blessed them with food for the Soul and soil...
To feed the seeds...hence, feed them.......
Tenses done with intent...

Many thanks maa for your visit!
The touch of the droplets....what a joy..
I felt cleansed and rejuvenated when it rained here..
    Just like you mentioned...
Feeling like a child all over again
    and the connection afterwards....

I imagined those in the third world countries who beg for rain to survive...and I don't ever take it for granted...

    Appreciate your words!!
    Many blessings to YOU!
    Best wishes too
    and much love~ Desire~*~

    dear desire,
your poem has really nourrished my soul, you know.
it reminded me so much of my own childhood, and when I shared similar experiences with my girl-friends or, most of the time, alone, lost in the grace of the moment, enjoying the simple beauty of nature and the sensations it offers us through its blessings.
you know what, I am 41 now, but yesterday afternoon, for the first time since childhood, I didn't run back to the car, when it started raining, suddenly during our walk with the doggies.
I just let myself be touched by the rain, allowed the water to soak my yellow flowerdress (I usually wear pants ...), and my hair become really drippy with the heavenly blessed water.
it had been so dry here, that I rejoiced for the soil, for the trees and the animals, to have water again.
    how nice ...
thank you for having somehow been my messenger which allowed me to open up again to some forgotten treasures ...

    maa
