riders,
bikes and 4 wheelers,
with helmets,
or without...
a rider is only as safe as he drives,
if he drives 100 mph with no helmet,
he better be able to control it.
other wise he wont make it.
if a rider rides at 20 miles per hour with a helmet,
either he isn't comfortable with his riding,
or he is precocious.
either way he stands a chance.
in the end all comes to two things,
are comfortable with your riding,
and can you handle what your doing?
if so feel free, if not, wear protection.
Author notes
illinois option # 1 i kinda of do agree but mostly disagree because if someone is good enough to ride without then let them, it should be optional for any who can pass a test for it.

Ok good poem. But no matter how careful a rider is something can always go wrong. I like your style, altough I don't actually agree with your message. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest. ttyl Tali

As a rider I can tell you that people who don't wear helmets likely haven't fallen. I wear mine because I got a second chance.

i think you misused the word precocious. but nice work jello.

I understand where you come from and and I don't care how experience someone is, something is bound to go wrong. You yourself might be a safe and an experience driver, but who can say the people around you are the same way?
Thanks for your entry and good luck!
