Seasons

The cold freeze of December always bites like a dog,
Transparent icicles hang from crystal tree tops.
While dark dismal nights brings a grey blanket of fog,
Temperatures fall below zero, and continue to drop.

The fourth month of April brings soft showers of rain,
Tender like rose petals as spring dances in.
Sweet on my lips like the taste of vintage Champagne,
each single rain drop renewing my pale winter skin.

The warm August sun spreads her silk crimson wings,
Lays down a pathway of bright amber streams.
Unfolding her beauty with the light that she brings,
Caressing the land with her golden sun beams.

October paints pictures in shades rich and warm,
Extending her patterns in a delightful array.
Blessing the landscape with all her wisdom and charm,
She etches the scenery with an impressive display.

I love the line "Temperatures fall below zero, and continue to drop." It perfectly describes winter where I live. Actually, I love the entire poem, and I love how you give each season a month. Beautiful description and rhyming, your imagery is superb. Wonderful!

Beautifully written with each season standing alone in its own verse, yet together in this wonderful piece as they do in the year. I really like how you described each season without naming them. I like all the seasons but fall is my favorite. Good luck in this contest, Legend has such good ones.
I hope it's cooled off there, as it finily has here. We did get up into the 100's before it did though.
I do so love your work, and enjoy reading it all. As long as you post it I will read it, and find much joy.

It's great to see all four seasons get equal attention and praise. Well...maybe December didn't get quite as good of a review as the rest, but it was still beautifully portrayed. lol Nice job and good luck in the contest.
