What Price to Put on Love

I held the gifts you gave me,
Wished that god had saved me
From the heartache that was you.
I closed my eyes and saw it,
The moment that you bought it,
Oh I was so in love with you.

What price do you put on love,
On a memory, a smile, a kiss?
What do you say when people ask
"How much would you take for this?"

I hold them to my heart,
In seconds the tears start,
As always when I think of you.
It's time to let it go,
Way past time, I know,
But what price to put on you?

What price do you put on love,
On a memory, a smile, a kiss?
What do you say when people ask
"How much would you take for this?"

A dollar to take you away,
A hundred pennies replace the day,
When I was held so tight by you.
It's garage sale time,
That table is mine,
And people keep picking up you.

What price do you put on love,
On a memory, a smile, a kiss?
What do you say when people ask
"How much would you take for this?"

I sold your love so cheaply,
Letting go hurt me so deeply,
Maybe now I won't think of you.
Right now I'm close to crying,
God I feel like dying,
I can't believe I got rid of you.

I put a price on love,
On a memory, a smile, a kiss.
I heard a million people ask
What I would take for this,
And I sold you cheap,
Because that's what your love is.

Very deep and emotional. Yout put everything together so clearly for a read that there is no way anyone can't love this! I really love how you repeat one stanza throuhout the whole poem. Wonderful. ^_^
