My Friend and Brother

My Friend and Brother  ~~ acrostic

So few can one call a true friend these days,
Unless one accepts ideals that are vile.
Reassuring, I've some going my way;
Perhaps despite some who seduce by wiles,
Run straight paths we do, though just bits of clay.
I cite one friend, with sister Debby's smile.
Sister Joanne knows the Lord reigns this day,
Equal, his pen, to Shakespeare's ink vial.

Ascribe a true friend, so I thought of him:
Never lets me down when others attack,
Taking on the heat 'midst a battle hymn;
He and my sisters e'er protect my back.
One way, heart, and mind, that crusades they win.
Night or day, his Light destroys all that's black.
Yea, he is my brother and I love him.
