Crusade

We arise from the battle the chaos still curdling within
The carnage around settles in our eyes, full realisation is cast
What do we do now?
What happens next?
Do we continue the fight with blame and hatred?
In a selfish dieses of content and destruction
Or do we hold hands and walk together?
Let down our guards
And trust each other
The choice seems apparent
But it is hard to make
As we all struggle with control selfishness and greed
However nice we seem to be
Too many past conflicts to just obliterate
So alone we watch the world crumble at our feet
As we victimise and defeat
Only to become defeated and victims
How long will it take to know this isn’t the way?
After a moment or two of thought we sink back into our battle
Let the chaos lose again and carry on with the fight alone.

In the end, I guess the choice wasn't/isn't apparent.
